| Sometimes
students come from other countries and are attending college
in California on an F-1 visa. Because of the special needs
of these students, colleges often create International
Student Centers.

centers assist new arrivals with their initial application,
immigration processing and F-1 visa certification. The centers
also provide an introduction to higher education, academic
advisement and follow-up counseling, class enrollment and
preparation for transfer to a four-year college or university. |
